10u Eagles stay on a roll with Boo Ball sweep!!

The 10u Eagles came into the weekend winning 9 out of their last 10 games and stayed hot by sweeping four games for the Boo Ball 10u championship. The Eagles faced Parkview on an opening pool play game and had to come back to win 11-10 after being down 7-1. The Eagles did not panic and rode their ever dependable pitching back into the game when in the bottom of the last inning they scored two runs off of great base running. Their second pool play game was a whitewash 21-1 over a select team that earned them the first seed and a first round bye. Sunday the Eagles again found themselves behind to the South Gwinnett Comets but the Eagles did not panic and again the pitching kept the team close until they struck for 6 runs in the 3rd inning and another 6 runs in the 4th. The championship game saw the Eagles rematch with the Parkview Panthers team that they opened up the tournament with. The Eagles quickly got into a hole of 6-0 but again the deficit would be short lived as the Eagles struck for 10 runs in the 4th inning. This tournament and the successful season have truly been a team effort with all the boys getting big hits, making huge plays in the field and the pitching has been outstanding this season. The Eagles currently stand at 19 wins and 5 losses with four games and a tournament left on their schedule. We cannot wait to finish strong and take this momentum into the 2010 season!
