Collins Hill Baseball plays according to modified Dixie Youth Baseball rules and regulations. For additional information you are encouraged to visit the Dixie Youth Baseball website and read the Baseball Handbook.

We offer both a Spring and a Fall Baseball program.  Sign-ups for the Spring season usually begin around the second week of January and generally runs for two weekends, depending on the turnout. Practice will normally start in February and the opening day of the Spring season is in March. The Spring season runs through the end of May. The Fall sign-ups begin during the last week of July and the first Fall game usually takes place right after Labor Day. The Fall season runs through October.

We also offer a Travel Baseball program for ages 9 and up. These teams are picked from tryouts usually held in November for the following year. These travel teams represent Collins Hill at various venues in the Southeast.

The League Age Chart is based on your child’s age as of 4/30/10:

  • Pre T  (Ages 3 & 4) – 5/1/05 to 4/30/07
  • T-Ball  (Ages 5 & 6) – 5/1/03 to 4/30/05
  • PeeWee  (Ages 7 & 8) - 5/1/01 to 4/30/03
  • Minor  (Ages 9 & 10) – 5/1/99 to 4/30/01
  • Major  (Ages 11 & 12) – 5/1/97 to 4/30/99
  • Pony  (Ages 13 & 14) – 5/1/95 to 4/30/97
  • Senior  (Ages 15 & 18) – 5/1/90 to 4/30/95

Equipment needed:

Collins Hill provides as part of registration a jersey, pants, belt, socks and hat. You must provide a helmet, glove, bat and cleats.

Evaluations:

No evaluations for the fall season.

 

Fall 2010 Baseball Registration

Baseball registration opens online Saturday, July 24th and will close Saturday, August 7th at midnight. A late fee of $20 will be applied to all registrations after August 7th. Registrations after the 7th are subject to availability and are not guaranteed an open spot.

A walk up registration will be held at the Collins Hill Library Saturday, August 7th (time 2:00- 4:00). Those needing to pay by cash or check need to attend the walk up registration. Online registration will only accept Credit Card payments.

  • Pre T will cost $40.00
  • T-Ball, PeeWee and Minor will cost $115.00
  • Major and Pony will cost $115.00
  • Senior will cost $115.00
  • 9u and 10u Travel will cost $115.00
  • 11u and 12u Travel will cost $115.00
  • 13u and 14u Travel will cost $115.00
  • If you refer a player that has never played at Collins Hill before you will receive a $10.00 discount.
  • A $10.00 discount will be applied to those families registering more than one Baseball.

Support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta on September 11th

Parents,

How many trophies do you have stored away in your garage or attic?  What about bats and gloves your children have outgrown? 

On Saturday September 11th at Rock Springs Park we will be collecting any sports trophies you have stock piled over the years and donating them to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.  It doesn’t matter the sport.

In addition, we will be collecting any gently used sports equipment you may have as well. 

Footballs, baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls, gloves, bats, tennis rackets, hockey sticks, cleats, track shoes.

Please spread the word and help support the BGCMA by donating your trophies and sports equipment. You can visit their web site for more information on needs.

Collins Hill Nights with the Atlanta Falcons

Tryouts for the 13u Collins Hill Eagles Black will take place Sunday, July 25th (3:00) and Sunday, August 1st (4:00) at Collins Hill Park field 2. Birthdate (14 years) must be after April 30, 2011. Please arrive 30 minutes early for stretching and warm-ups, all players must bring water.   • Saturday, July 24th starting at 2:00 p.m.;
  • Saturday, July 31st starting at 2:00 p.m. 

 Location: Field 2 at Collins Hill Park. You only need to attend one tryout session. Please email me at the address below if you plan on attending one of the tryouts.  Also, if you are unable to make one of these tryout sessions, please let me know so we can arrange another tryout time.

10u Eagles take 3rd at Grand Slam World Series in Florida

Grandslam World Series

 The 10U Eagles finished their season on a high note taking third place in the week long Grand Slam session I World Series in Panama City Beach Florida. The team will end the season with a 30-15 record with two tournament wins, a top four placement in GGBL and their third place finish in the season ending World Series.  Collins Hill defeated some great teams to earn their trophies in Florida beating an East Cobb team and the returning champion Wills Park Scorpions.  The Team was coached by Manager Landon Boyd with assistants Kent Adicks and Dirk Abney. The Roster includes: Alaska Abney, Jason Adicks, Michael Albee,  Chandler Black, Zach Boyd, Jon-Michael Findlay, Jeffery Hill, Branan McGee, Ben Mottet, Tomas Nadal and Oscar Serratos. The team will take the rest of July off and then play a fall schedule starting with try outs in early August. The coaching staff would like to thank all the parents for all of their support this season and look forward to another
successful season to start in August.

Collins Hill 11u Eagles win County Baseball Championship

GGBL Champs

 

The Collins Hill 11U Eagles – Green team claimed their second consecutive County Championship on June 11, 2010.  Nineteen teams competed this season in the 11U division of the Greater Gwinnett Baseball League (GGBL).  The Collins Hill Eagles – Green team finished the GGBL regular season in 1st place, with a league record of 17 wins and 1 loss.  

In the County Championship tournament, the 11U teams competed in an 11-day double elimination tournament.  The tournament final came down to the #1 seed – Collins Hill versus the #2 seed – Parkview Panthers playing in a best two out of three for the championship.  Collins Hill swept the final in two games and went undefeated in the tournament outscoring their opponents 46 – 9 in their six games.

The members of the team are James Civelli, Cameron Edwards, Mark Flores, Monty Horn, Austin Jett, Ryan Jones, Bradley Kallgren, Austin Mancilla, Porter Richards, Nicholas Topoleski and Jon Wyatt.  They are managed by Ted Kallgren and coached by Tony Flores, Jimmy Richards and Tom Topoleski.

Al Del Villar Crowned “King of Swat” at 2010 Battle of the Bridge Tournament
Al Del Villar, a member of the 2010 12U Green Eagles, was crowned “King of Swat” at this year’s Battle at the Bridge Tournament, held May 20-23 in Alpharetta.
“Big Al”, as he’s known to his teammates and fans, was tied with another competitor with 3 homeruns after the initial round.  The two players then took place in a “swing-off” to determine the champion.  Del Villar took the crown belting 4 homeruns in the swing-off, against 2 for his competitor.  Del Villar totaled 7 homeruns on 15 swings in the two rounds.
Aside from a trophy and a tremendous sense of accomplishment, Al was awarded with a Chipper Jones autographed bat.  Congratulations Al!

Car Wash Saturday, May 8th to Benefit the CH11U Green Eagles

The Collins Hill 11U Eagles Green Travel baseball team, coached by Ted Kallgren, will be conducting a car wash / fundraiser this coming Saturday at the Goodyear Tire and Auto Center at 2115 L’Ville-Suwanee Road from 8 AM until 2 PM.  All proceeds will go to the team as they prepare to travel to the Cooperstown Dreams Park in the summer of 2011.

Field Status Update Process for Inclement Weather

Reminder ** Stay instantly informed of field status due to inclement weather.  All CHAA members have the opportunity to sign up for instant text messages when fields are closed.  Upon registration, members will have the opportunity to select how and how often they wish to receive updates.  E-mail notification will also be an option, as will visiting our website and/or the Statusme website.  It’s quick and easy to use, and requires only that the individual complete a free & short, one-time registration.  Additionally, we are in the process of adding the field status display to the CHAA main page, as well as the individual sport main pages.  This will work for ALL outdoor sports at CHAA.

10U Eagles win Battle of the Bats Tournament

The 10U Eagles started their season off right by winning the fifth annual Battle of the Bats tournament in Monroe, Georgia this weekend. The Eagles brought their bats scoring over 70 runs in a 5 game sweep of the competition that included GGBL teams from Mill Creek and two South Gwinnett teams. The team played solid defense and the pitching was outstanding giving up only four runs the entire weekend with seven different pitchers contributing at least one inning. Team Members are Zach Boyd, Jason Adicks, Michael Albee, Branan McGee, Chandler Black, Jo-Jo Findlay, Ben Mottet, Oscar Serratos, Tomas Nadal, Jeffery Hill and Alaska Abney. Coaches Landon Boyd, Dirk Abney and Kent Adicks.
